Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-99022)
CWE-ID: CWE-20 - Improper input validation
CVSSv4: 6.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local privileged user to cause a denial of service by triggering a board reboot.
The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of readable register addresses in the Linux kernel LTC3676 regulator driver when processing register dumps through regmap debugfs. A local privileged user can read /sys/kernel/debug/regmap/2-003c/registers to trigger access to the write-only HRST register, causing a hard reset of the chip and rebooting the board.
The CLIRQ register at address 0x1f is also incorrectly treated as readable; reading it triggers the interrupt-clear command.
Remediation
Install update from vendor's website.
