Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Release of invalid pointer or reference (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-99006)
CWE-ID: CWE-763 - Release of invalid pointer or reference
CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service through invalid kernel memory deallocation.
The vulnerability exists due to invalid pointer deallocation in the i915 driver's eb_relocate_parse_slow() function when relocation cleanup uses a buffer count increased by the command parser to access entries outside the original exec array. A local user can trigger this execution path to cause kvfree() to operate on pointers obtained from out-of-bounds entries, potentially corrupting kernel memory and crashing the system.
Remediation
Install update from vendor's website.
