Description

1) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-99008)

CWE-ID: CWE-476 - NULL Pointer Dereference

CVSSv4: 5.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service by triggering a kernel crash.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference in the Linux kernel Bluetooth RFCOMM function rfcomm_dev_shutdown() when closing a tty whose device registration failed. A local user can open /dev/rfcommN after the RFCOMM device becomes discoverable but before tty registration completes, then close it following a registration failure to trigger a dereference of the unset dev->tty_dev pointer and cause a kernel crash.
