Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Memory leak (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98970)
CWE-ID: CWE-401 - Missing release of memory after effective lifetime
CVSSv4: 6.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local privileged user to potentially cause a denial of service through kernel memory exhaustion.
The vulnerability exists due to failure to release the buffer object cache size list in vc4_bo_cache_destroy() in the Linux kernel VC4 graphics driver when tearing down the cache during driver unbinding. A local privileged user can trigger repeated unbind operations, if permitted, to leak kernel memory and potentially cause a denial of service.
Remediation
Install update from vendor's website.
