Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Release of invalid pointer or reference (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98911)
CWE-ID: CWE-763 - Release of invalid pointer or reference
CVSSv4: 8.2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to potentially cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to an invalid pointer release in the Linux kernel dpaa2-switch driver's dpaa2_switch_rx() function when handling errors during received-frame processing. A remote attacker can potentially trigger the affected error path through network traffic to cause a kernel crash when a receive frame descriptor is incorrectly treated as a transmit frame descriptor and its software annotation data is used as a socket-buffer pointer for deallocation.
Remediation
