Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Incorrect comparison (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98912)
CWE-ID: CWE-697 - Incorrect Comparison
CVSSv4: 4.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause data to be written beyond the requested userspace buffer length.
The vulnerability exists due to an inverted buffer-length comparison in snd_seq_oss_read() when processing reads of queued OSS sequencer events. A local user can request a read shorter than the next queued event to cause the event to be copied beyond the requested userspace buffer length.
Remediation
Install update from vendor's website.
