Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98902)
CWE-ID: CWE-190 - Integer overflow
CVSSv4: 2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to interfere with RAID5 stripe batching, potentially compromising storage consistency.
The vulnerability exists due to integer wraparound and an incorrect sequence-number comparison in the Linux kernel RAID5 stripe batching logic when a 32-bit sequence counter wraps. A local user can potentially exercise stripe batching across this wraparound condition to cause newer bm_seq values to be treated as older values, potentially compromising storage consistency.
Remediation
Install update from vendor's website.
