1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98892)

CWE-ID: CWE-125 - Out-of-bounds read

CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to trigger an out-of-bounds read that may cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient payload-length validation in the Linux kernel ARM SCMI BASE_ERROR_EVENT notification parser when processing variable-length message reports. A local user can supply a truncated notification payload whose error_status specifies more reports than the payload contains to trigger reads beyond the received data, potentially causing a kernel crash.
