Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Use of uninitialized resource (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98898)
CWE-ID: CWE-908 - Use of Uninitialized Resource
CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to potentially cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to use of an uninitialized resource in the Linux kernel AMD GPU power management component when processing interrupts that schedule thermal work. A local user can potentially trigger work scheduling on an uninitialized thermal work queue to cause a kernel crash and denial of service.
The vulnerable condition occurs when dynamic power management is disabled with the amdgpu.dpm=0 module parameter.
