1) Numeric Truncation Error (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98884)

CWE-ID: CWE-197 - Numeric Truncation Error

CVSSv4: 5.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service by triggering a kernel crash.

The vulnerability exists due to integer truncation in the Linux kernel MMC core when an excessively large host-provided max_segs value is truncated to zero. A local user can trigger MMC request initialization with such an invalid host configuration to cause a zero-size scatter-gather allocation and a subsequent invalid memory access in sg_init_table(), crashing the kernel.
