Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98891)
CWE-ID: CWE-125 - Out-of-bounds read
CVSSv4: 7.1 [CVSS:4.0/AV:A/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker on the local network to trigger an out-of-bounds read that may cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in the mac80211 ieee80211_rx_mgmt_deauth() function when processing truncated Wi-Fi deauthentication frames. A remote attacker on the local network can transmit a frame missing the reason code field to trigger a read beyond the received frame data before its length is checked, potentially causing a denial of service.
