CWE-ID: CWE-457 - Use of Uninitialized Variable
CVSSv4: 0 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to trigger a harmless kernel debug warning.
The vulnerability exists due to use of an uninitialized transport-header offset in the Linux kernel Open vSwitch update_ipv6_checksum() function when rewriting IPv6 addresses in non-first IPv6 fragments. A local user can submit a non-first IPv6 fragment for address rewriting to trigger the warning.
The warning occurs with CONFIG_DEBUG_NET=y.
