Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Missing Synchronization (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-99090)
CWE-ID: CWE-820 - Missing Synchronization
CVSSv4: 0 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to trigger a kernel warning and set the TAINT_WARN flag during GPU recovery on systems with lockdep enabled.
The vulnerability exists due to missing synchronization in the amdgpu_get_vblank_counter_kms() callback when reading display registers and scanout position during GPU reset. A local user can cause vblank counter reads to overlap GPU recovery to trigger the lockdep assertion in amdgpu_device_skip_hw_access() and set TAINT_WARN when lockdep is enabled.
Remediation
Install update from vendor's website.
