Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Access of Uninitialized Pointer (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-99166)
CWE-ID: CWE-824 - Access of Uninitialized Pointer
CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service by crashing the Linux kernel.
The vulnerability exists due to an uninitialized pointer dereference in rds_rdma_cm_event_handler_cmn() when handling connection requests received on non-InfiniBand RDMA devices. A remote attacker can send a connection request to an RDS listener on an iWARP device to trigger a dereference of the uninitialized transport pointer and crash the kernel.
Remediation
