1) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-99156)

CWE-ID: CWE-416 - Use After Free

CVSSv4: 5.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service through kernel memory corruption.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free race in the Linux kernel SCSI tape driver when opening a tape device concurrently with its removal. A local user can open the device during removal to cause st_open() to access a freed scsi_tape structure through st_index_idr, potentially crashing the kernel.
