Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Race condition (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-99213)
CWE-ID: CWE-362 - Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition')
CVSSv4: 5.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service through kernel memory corruption.
The vulnerability exists due to a race condition in the Linux kernel vsock_connect() function when handling an OP_RST transition from TCP_ESTABLISHED to TCP_CLOSING during connection establishment. A local user can trigger this race to reset a socket still present in connected_table, causing kernel memory corruption and crashes when the socket is reinserted.
