Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Infinite loop (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-99244)
CWE-ID: CWE-835 - Loop with Unreachable Exit Condition ('Infinite Loop')
CVSSv4: 2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to potentially cause a denial of service through excessive CPU consumption.
The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of notification signals in zap_pid_ns_processes() when waiting for processes in a PID namespace to exit. A local user can potentially trigger PID namespace teardown under conditions where TIF_NOTIFY_SIGNAL is repeatedly raised to cause the namespace reaper to busy-wait instead of sleeping, consuming CPU resources.
Remediation
Install update from vendor's website.
