Description

This security bulletin contains information about 5 vulnerabilities.

1) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-14087)

CWE-ID: CWE-119 - Memory corruption

CVSSv4: 8.6 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the bytestring_parse() and string_parse() functions of the GVariant parser when processing maliciously crafted input strings. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

2) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-41989)

CWE-ID: CWE-20 - Improper input validation

CVSSv4: 5.9 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local non-authenticated attacker to damange or delete data.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the Alarms, KPI, and Measurements (libgcrypt) component in Oracle Communications Cloud Native Core Policy. A local non-authenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability to damange or delete data.

3) Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-42198)

CWE-ID: CWE-770 - Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling

CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to allocation of resources without limits or throttling in SCRAM-SHA-256 authentication handling when processing a server-supplied PBKDF2 iteration count. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted SCRAM server-first-message with a very large iteration count to cause a denial of service.

The issue is triggered only when the client uses SCRAM-SHA-256 authentication and reaches a malicious, compromised, or attacker-controlled PostgreSQL endpoint.

4) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-27135)

CWE-ID: CWE-20 - Improper input validation

CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to missing state validation in the nghttp2 session handling logic when processing malformed frames after session termination has been initiated. A remote attacker can send specially crafted frames to cause a denial of service.

For PRIORITY_UPDATE and ALTSVC frames, the affected extension types must be explicitly enabled. Builds with assertions disabled may not crash under the same conditions.

5) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-4424)

CWE-ID: CWE-20 - Improper input validation

CVSSv4: 6.9 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to disclose sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in libarchive when parsing input. A remote attacker can supply specially crafted archive data to disclose sensitive information.
