Vulnerability description

Vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform XSS attacks.

The vulnerability is caused by an input validation error in Alt-N MDaemon Free 12.5.4 when processing an e-mail message body with (1) the Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) expression property in conjunction with a CSS comment within the STYLE attribute of an IMG element, (2) the CSS expression property in conjunction with multiple CSS comments within the STYLE attribute of an arbitrary element, or (3) an innerHTML attribute within an XML document. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in victim's browser in security context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
