Detailed vulnerability description
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause DoS condition or gain elevated privileges on the target system.
The weakness exists due to improper input validation in the kernel mode layer (nvlddmkm.sys) handler. By sending an invalid content, a local attacker can cause NULL pointer dereference, leading to denial of service or an escalation of privileges.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may result in denial of service or privilege escalation.
