Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to null pointer dereference error in the routing protocol daemon (rpd). A remote non-authenticated attacker can cause impact to the availability of the device.

When static route points to a reject next hop and a gNMI query is processed for that static route, rpd crashes and restarts.
