Detailed vulnerability description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform DoS attack on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due memory leak within the smb2_sess_setup() function in fs/ksmbd/smb2pdu.c of the ksmbd component. A remote attacker can send a session setup request with unknown NTLMSSP message type and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
