Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the iked process process. A remote non-authenticated attacker can send specially crafted packets to the affected device, trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the system.

Note, the vulnerability affects both the mobile user VPN with IKEv2 and the branch office VPN using IKEv2 when configured with a dynamic gateway peer.
