Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the routing protocol daemon (rpd) with BGP sharding configured. A remote attacker can triggering indirect next-hop updates, along with timing outside the attacker's control to perform a denial of service attack.
