Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error in ipfw when processing incoming packets under certain configurations involving tcp-setmss. A remote attacker can send specially crafted packets to the system and perform a denial of service attack.
