Description

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to a memory leak in drm/xe configfs device release handling when removing a configfs device. A local user can trigger device removal after allocating ctx_restore_mid_bb to cause a denial of service.

The issue occurs because ctx_restore_mid_bb[0].cs is not freed, which can leak memory during configfs device removal.

Remediation

Install security update from vendor's repository.
