Description

The vulnerability allows a remote user to escalate privileges.

The vulnerability exists due to improper access control in the LXD certificate authorization logic when processing restricted CA-signed client certificates in PKI mode. A remote user can present a restricted certificate to gain full access to LXD and escalate privileges.

The issue occurs when a server.ca file is present in LXD_DIR and restrictions on certificates in the trust store are ignored.
