Detailed vulnerability description

The vulnerability allows a remote user to disclose sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to insertion of sensitive information into log files in the Splunk _internal index and log files when storing session and authorization tokens in clear text. A remote privileged user can read the exposed tokens to disclose sensitive information.

Exploitation requires access to the _internal index, local log files, or the mcp_tool_admin capability.
