Detailed vulnerability description

The vulnerability allows a remote user to execute arbitrary code.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in the checkTimeEntryRule() function when processing the timeEntryRule value from global settings in NodeVM. A remote privileged user can modify the timeEntryRule setting to execute arbitrary code.

The malicious code is triggered when a new time entry is created, and any authenticated user can trigger execution once the setting has been modified.
