Detailed vulnerability description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to allocation of resources without limits or throttling in the NTS-KE server connection handling when accepting NTS-KE TCP connections. A remote attacker can open a large number of parallel TCP connections to cause a denial of service.

Only configurations with an NTS-KE server enabled are vulnerable. The connections must be opened quickly enough to avoid the key-exchange timeout.
