Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of length parameter inconsistency in NTS cookie processing when handling NTP packets containing a shorter-than-expected cookie. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted NTP packet to cause a denial of service.

The issue affects server operation, including cases where the server is not configured to handle NTS packets.
