Linux kernel

Detailed vulnerability description

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper resource management in iomap_read_folio_iter() and iomap_read_end() when processing read I/O with a folio size that matches inode->i_blkbits but differs from the I/O granularity. A local user can trigger crafted read operations to cause a denial of service.

The issue occurs in the !ifs case where the current folio is not invalidated before read completion handling continues.
