Detailed vulnerability description
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to a null pointer dereference in BL setup in the drm/amd/display component when handling LVDS connectors without extended backlight capabilities. A local user can trigger access to an invalid ext_caps pointer to cause a denial of service.
