Detailed vulnerability description
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to improper check for unusual or exceptional conditions in the chassis control daemon (chassisd) when executing a specific 'show chassis' CLI command. A local user can execute the crafted command to cause a denial of service.
The daemon crash and restart causes a momentary impact to traffic until all modules are online again.
