Detailed vulnerability description
The vulnerability allows a local privileged user to gain root access to a Linux-based FPC.
The vulnerability exists due to missing authentication for critical function in command processing when processing commands for Linux-based line cards. A local privileged user can invoke a critical function to gain root access to a Linux-based FPC.
Only systems using Linux-based line cards running Junos OS Evolved are vulnerable.
