Detailed vulnerability description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper check for unusual or exceptional conditions in the packet forwarding engine (pfe) when receiving VSTP BPDUs on UNI interfaces in VXLAN scenarios. A remote attacker can send specific control protocol packets to cause a denial of service.

Exploitation requires EX4k or QFX5k platforms configured as service-provider edge devices with L2PT enabled on the UNI and VSTP enabled on NNI.
