Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote authenticated attacker to bypass security restrictions on the target system.

The weakness exists due to insufficient validation of client-provided parameters during XMPP stream restarts. A remote attacker can supply specially crafted parameters, override the realm associated with the session, bypass security restrictions and impersonate a legitimate user.
