Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to a race condition in the Intel VT-d PASID table entry handling when replacing an active PASID entry. A local user can trigger PASID entry replacement to cause a denial of service.

The issue can lead to torn reads of a 512-bit PASID entry, causing inconsistent hardware state and spurious faults.
