Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper error handling in arch_set_shadow_stack_status() when allocating a guarded control stack. A local user can trigger an allocation failure and cause the kernel to use an invalid GCS address to cause a denial of service.
