Detailed vulnerability description

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to a lock inversion deadlock in ni_read_folio_cmpr when handling concurrent reads of compressed NTFS frames. A local user can trigger concurrent page access to cause a denial of service.

The issue occurs because one execution path waits on page locks while another waits on the inode mutex, resulting in a task hang.
