Detailed vulnerability description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass security restrictions on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation. A remote attacker can supply a specially crafted HTML fragment, cause Sanitize gem for Ruby and use non-whitelisted attributes on a whitelisted HTMLelement.


How to mitigate CVE-2018-3740

The vulnerability is fixed in the versions 11.0.1, 10.8.5, and 10.7.6.
