Detailed vulnerability description
The vulnerability allows a malicious privileged guest to compromise the vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in the VMXNET3 virtual network adapter. A privileged user on a guest OS can trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the host OS.
Note, non VMXNET3 virtual adapters are not affected by this vulnerability.
