The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to improper control of a resource through its lifetime in Cisco IOS XE Software when handling requests. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request to cause a denial of service.
The issue affects Cisco IOS XE Software running in autonomous or controller mode.
