CWE-ID: CWE-362
Exploitation vector: Local access

Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper synchronization in raw_setsockopt() and raw flags bitfield handling in net/can/raw.c when changing socket options concurrently. A local user can trigger concurrent setsockopt operations to cause a denial of service.

The issue was introduced after flags were consolidated into a single bitfield, leading to a read-modify-write race during flag updates.
