Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to a null pointer dereference in dpll_msg_add_pin_ref_sync() when handling dpll pin unregistration events for shared pins with ref_sync pairs. A local user can trigger unregistration of affected dpll devices to cause a denial of service.

The issue occurs when a pin is registered with multiple dpll devices and a ref_sync partner has already been removed from the current device's pin references while remaining registered with another device.
