Use-after-free in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-68358
Published: August 12, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to execute arbitrary code.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free in the nzxt-kraken3 driver probe function when handling device initialization failures after device I/O has been started. A local user can trigger a probe failure after I/O start to execute arbitrary code.
The issue is caused by a race condition between hid_input_report() and execution immediately following hid_device_io_start() during probe.
