CVSS v4: 4.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
CVE-ID: CVE-2026-68330
CWE-ID: CWE-908
Exploitation vector: Local access
Exploit availability: No public exploit available

Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause silent data corruption.

The vulnerability exists due to improper DMA buffer synchronization in airoha_npu_send_msg() when processing NPU mailbox responses through a shared DMA buffer on non-cache-coherent systems. A local user can trigger mailbox operations that cause the CPU to read stale cached data to cause silent data corruption.

The issue is timing-sensitive and is more likely when the response is read immediately after DMA unmapping without intervening cache-evicting operations.
