Memory leak in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-68321
Published: August 12, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to a memory leak in the txgbe driver FDIR filter cleanup logic when removing the driver after adding perfect FDIR filters while the interface is down. A local user can add perfect FDIR filters and trigger driver removal to cause a denial of service.
The issue occurs because filters kept on the software list for later restore are not freed if unregister_netdev() does not call ndo_stop.
