CWE-ID: CWE-362
Exploitation vector: Local access
Exploit availability: No public exploit available

Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to a race condition in tipc_udp_rcast_add() and cleanup_bearer() in net/tipc/udp_media.c when updating the udp bearer replicast list during peer discovery and bearer cleanup. A local user can enable a TIPC bearer from an unprivileged user namespace and trigger concurrent list updates to cause a denial of service.

The issue can corrupt the kernel list structure and trigger a kernel BUG during bearer cleanup.
