Deadlock in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-68319
Published: August 12, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to a deadlock in the pds_core reset and device removal handling when a PCI reset thread runs concurrently with device removal. A local user can trigger concurrent reset and remove operations to cause a denial of service.
The issue occurs because the reset work waits for a device lock that is already held during the unbind sequence, while device removal waits for the workqueue to complete.
